Our Process

Typical Portrait Workflow

I love to keep the entire shooting and working process as simple as possible.  The flow can vary a little depending upon the subject and the type, location and prep work required for the shoot. Here is what the process usually looks like:

  1. You contact me to express your interest in the possibility of working together. I will talk with you preliminarily about your interests.
  2. We meet together for a consultation where we talk about shooting details, outfits, locations, changes and the basic “story line” for the shoot that we want to accomplish.
  3. If we are a good fit, you will sign a contract and pay your non-refundable shooting fee to book a shooting reservation.
  4. We schedule the shoot and take pictures.
  5. Usually about 1-2 weeks after the shoot I have images ready for review.  You will be able to come over and see them in person, and I will also send you a link to a secure, protected online purchasing gallery from where you may order your images.  You will have a two week window, once the gallery is put online, to place your initial order.
  6. The images that you order are typically ready within 1-2 weeks (with the exception of collections/albums/specialty items that may require special preparation and processing).

It’s a pretty easy, fun process for all!

My Shooting Style

I use both available light and a wide variety of tools and lighting equipment to achieve the goals for each shoot.  This means that your experience on shoots may be different than you have previously experienced. Depending on the shoot, there may be more setup time and equipment involved than you may have been around before. But don’t worry, that is how I am able to do what I do!

I like to have a TON of fun while working – keeping things as relaxed and fun as possible as we make great images together.  I am still a kid at heart and love to play.  I love to ask questions and get to know you and what you like/ don’t like.  Most of all, I like a relaxed working time together.

Equipment and Preparation

I shoot primarily with Nikon digital cameras and equipment that includes backup systems (including a backup camera) to help protect from failures and business interruptions.  Your final images are also protected and backed up online.
